-Azha day in Held Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated throughout the Indian-held Kashmir with all solemnity renewing the pledge to carry on the liberation movement till the achievement of the basic right of self-determination.

At Eid congregations glowing tributes were paid to the people who laid down their lives fighting the Indian repression and tyranny, says a Kashmir Media Service (KMS) report.

Addressing the largest Eid congregation in Markazi Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, the Chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Shah Gilani, declared that the freedom movement will continue despite all trials and tribulations.

He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are determined to break the shackles of slavery and end the Indian usurpation of their homeland.

He said India not succeeded in the past in crushing the freedom movement and will never be successful in future as well. He observed that relations between India and Pakistan hinged on the resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

He doubted the sincerity of India to solve the Kashmir dispute through dialogue with Pakistan and considered this exercise just a time-gaining device. Syed Ali Shah Gilani appealed to the United Nations and world community to intervene to solve the Kashmir issue.

The Indian occupation forces continued their repression even on the solemn occasion of Eid and killed almost ten innocent persons in various parts of the held territory. The forces destroyed two houses in village Trail in Bijbehara by shelling and two bodies of Muhammad Said Dar and Ghulam Rasool Butt were recovered from the debris.

A young girl was killed by the forces in Pattu Shahi Bibehara. Three persons including two women were seriously injured in Indian firing. A protest demonstration was held by the local people.

The Indian agents killed three youth in Haribodh area of Poonch. There bodies were recovered from a forest.

The body of a youth was found in Mahur, Udhampur who was killed in custody by the forces. A military Subedar, Sevak Singh was killed by an armed guard in Rajori.ÑAPP
