LAHORE: The Punjab Government has approved the sale rate of certified cotton seed as Rs. 720/40 kg for the Kharif season 1996, said a spokesman of Punjab Agriculture Department here Monday.

According to the details, the certified seed of cotton will be available at the sale points of Punjab seed corporation and dealers appointed for the purpose and sale depots of Punjab Agricultural Development and Supply Corporation.

The farmers have been advised by the experts not to sow prohibited cotton varieties and the varieties not approved by the Punjab Seed Council. Only the certified seed of approved varieties be grow n for better yield of seed cotton.-APP
