Coffee futures down

NEW YORK: CSCE coffee futures traded mostly lower and within a narrow range at midday, as scattered speculative and commission house selling pressured prices, traders said.

"London's closed, so it's very quiet now," one traders said.

At 1106 EDT, May coffee was 1.25 lower at 114.00 cents a 1b, after trading between 113.65 and 115.40. Second-month July was 0.90 weaker at 114.20, while the back months were off 0.50 to up 0.25.

Traders pegged May support at 112.50, with the next downside objective on the charts seen at 110.00. "If it gets below 110.00, it's going to be sad," the trader said.

Traders await the latest U.S. certified stock report due after today's close.-Reuter
