Cocoa falls in dull trading

NEW YORK: CSCE cocoa was lower in thin midday dealings, pressured by light local and trade selling, dealers said.

The LCE is closed Monday for the Easter holiday.

At 1119 EDT, May cocoa was $6 lower at $1,335 a tonne, after ranging narrowly between $1.342 and $1,332. Second-month July was down $9 at $1,345, while the remaining months traded $3 to $8 lower.

The May/July spread narrowed to $9, compared to $13 at the close Thursday. The dealer attributed nearly half of the estimated 3,082 lots traded as of 1100 EDT to spread activity.-Reuter
