Basmati (kernal) down
on grain markets
RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI: Widespread fluctuations were marked on the seed and grain markets, particularly in grams and whole rice sectors on Monday. Seeds had similar variation a day earlier.
Elsewhere, barring wheat, which lost Rs 20 other commodities held fast to previous levels.
On the gram sector modest to sharp losses were seen: Gram dal Punjab lost Rs 100 to Rs 25, and chana dal imported shed Rs 25.
Whole rice sector saw sharpest lost of Rs 300 in kernal basmati (new), basmati old also dropped Rs 250. But basmati new and old retreated by Rs 25 and 50 respectively.
