Rs 269m loans

in Sialkot, Narowal

SIALKOT: Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan (ADBP) has advanced loans amounting to Rs. 269.509 million to the growers and other interested persons in Sialkot and Narowal districts and recovered Rs. 266.938 million from the two districts.

A Spokesman of ADBP told APP on Monday that the Bank had further accelerated the recovery of loans in Sialkot and Narowal districts and so far 57 percent outstanding dues had been recovered. Under Kisan Banking ADBP is providing loan facilities to small farmers for the purchase of awami tractors.

The Bank under small dairy holders development project has advanced Rs. 6.01 million in Narowal and Sialkot districts. The aim of this programme is to enhance milk production in these areas.

The bank has also advanced Rs. 7.235 million to the small farmers of Tehsil Shakargarh under second barani area development programme.

The ADBP has also launched a special income generating scheme for women community of Sialkot and Shakargarh tehsils of Sialkot and Narowal districts. and has advanced loans amounting to Rs. 6.171 million. The loan facility of Rs. 50,000 is provided to interested women for setting up of their own business. The loan facility is provided for the establishment of cottage industry like cutlery and poultry farming etc.-APP
