Improved trading on paper market

LAHORE: Paper Market in the provincial metropolis after enjoying two holidays registered an improved trading with increased turnover on Sunday while prices of both brands, imported and locally produced stuff remained steady.

The market remained closed on Saturday following the strike call given by the Anjuman-e-Tajiran, Punjab to mourn the killing of PML (N) worker. The paper market at Ganpat Road saw a good number of transactions in the morning. But in the afternoon the turnover slightly decreased because of skirmishes between PML (N) workers and the police at outside historic Lohari Gate where the Qul ceremony of PML (N) worker were being offered which led the closure of business centres from Bhati Gate and Lohari Gate including Urdu Bazar.

Paper merchants were of the view that the market would become normal on Monday and real business would take place.
