LAHORE: The Secretary Livestock and Dairy Development,Punjab Chaudhary Mohammad Shafi Gill has suspended entire staff of the Civil Veterinary Hospital/Diagnostic Laboratory,Sargodha for remaining absent from duty.

The Secretary told APP here on Sunday that he conducted surprise visit to the laboratory on Thursday and found Senior Veterinary Officer, Dr. Raja Sultan Masud,Veterinary Officer, Dr.Abdul Zahra Balouch, Veterinary Assistants Ashiq Hussain Sherazi and others absent from duty, and none of them had submitted even causal leave or short leave application.

The Secretary remained at the Laboratory for quite some time to check that how many officials come to office late, but none of them turned up till his departure to Lahore. He placed under suspension the entire staff and directed Director, Rawalpindi and Deputy Director, Dairy and Development, Sargodha, to enquire into the matter and submit report to him within two days.

The Secretary said that he would continue to pay a series of surprise visits to different offices of his department to inspect their performance and check their punctuality, and negligent officials would never be spared at any cost.-APP
