Bright prospects
for Japanese
investment: Shah
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Abdullah Shah said here on Wednesday that conducive economic atmosphere exist for foreign investment and his Government would welcome Japanese enterpreneurs to invest in various sectors in Sindh.
He was talking to the Japanese Ambassador, Takao Kawakami who called on him at the Chief Minister House ambassador alongwith the Japanese Consul General at Karachi.
Highlighting the prospective areas for investment, the Chief Minister pointed out that Far-Eastern financers have shown their interest in the energy sector, especially the coa-based power generation.
Besides, he said, wide scope exist for investment in tourism sector. He informed that coastal areas of Sindh were being developed for palm oil cultivation which would lead to establishment of edible oil industries whose production will not only cater to needs of consumers in Pakistan but also markets in Middle East and Central Asia.
Shah also spoke said that existing bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Japan will grow further with growth in economic ties.
He called for promoting exchange of information on popular sports such as SUMO in Japan and Malakhro in Sindh.-APP
