KARACHI: At an average, a house wife in Karachi washes about 1500 utensils per month.

This was stated at the launching ceremony of "New Zip", a liquid dish-washer, made by Reckitt & Colman, held here on Thursday.

A representative of the company told the audience that a survey conducted by its research and development department, revealed that a housewife washed 10 dishes at breakfast, 20 each after lunch and dinner.

Addressing the gathering, Israr Ahmed, General Manager, Reckitt & Colman, said that his company used its global resources in research and development and other areas to develop a dishwashing liquid which was of high quality, high efficiency, convenient and economical. The result, he added, was that the formulation could be changed to obtain sourcing for the active ingredient locally and saving foreign exchange, without compromising on quality.

The "New Zip", is available in a 500ml plastic bottle for Rs 25.
