Decorators flay

levy of excise

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad-Latifabad Decoration Group, which met here on Wednesday, has taken strong exception to the levy of excise duty on decoration business and mandatory registration of decoration services.

The president of the group, Abdul Shakoor chaired the meeting.

The meeting resloved to launch a protest movement against the levy and claimed that the decoration services were already playing a host of taxes to the government.

The meeting observed that because of lawlessness in Sindh, the people associated with this trade were already in deep financial crisis.

Earlier, the meeting elected Abdul Shakoor as the president of the group while Haji Nisar Ahmed, Sultan Mehmood Qureshi, Liaquat Ali, Munir Ahmed, Haji Saheb Dino Samoon and Mohammad Rafiq Silawat were elected senior vice president, vice president, general secretary, joint secretary and information secretary respectively.
