BD taka steady

against dollar

DHAKA: The Bangladesh taka closed steady at 40.1990/40.2000 against the US dollar in interbank trading compared with previous 40.1995/40.2000, dealers said.

Dealers said the taka opened at 40.1985/95 to the dollar but slipped a little because of demand for the US currency for import payments at a time when the market was generally in short supply.

Interbank call money rates closed steady at 2.9 percent to 3.25 percent.-Reuter
