ISLAMABAD: Election Commission has observed that some Senators, members of National Assembly and members of provincial assemblies have not yet submitted their statements of assets and liabilities on the prescribed form, as required under the law.

The Commission has clarified for information of all concerned that statements of assets and liabilities will be entertained only on the form prescribed under the law and not in any other form or shape. The statement of assets and liabilities should be filled in properly according to columns given therein and signed by the senator member concerned.

Election commission further observed that some of the Senators/MNAs/MPAs have submitted the said statement through fax which cannot be entertained. In some cases entries relating to the names and other particulars of senator/member and period of declaration of assets and liabilities i.e. upto 30th June, 1995 are found missing. Photo copies of statements are also not acceptable. The orignial statements are required to be submitted to Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, Islamabad by 30th September by the Senator/MNA/MPA himself or by his authorised representative or through registered post, the Commission said.

The printed forms for submission of said statements can be obtained free of cost from Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad or from offices of the Provincial Election Commissioners, Pubjab, Lahore, Sindh, Karachi, NWFP, Peshawar and Balochistan, Quetta, it added.-APP
