300 nw power
shortage from
10th - 16th
KARACHI: Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) announced that it will face about 300 megawatts (MW) power shortage from August 10 to 16, due to the shut down of 500 kv Guddu to Dadu transmission circuit at Wapda-end in the interior of Sindh, and will therefore resort to loadshedding in the city.
A KESC spokesman said on Tuesday that loadshedding will be carried out during day time to the tune of 50 MW from 8 am to 6 pm in the residential areas shutting off residential feeders each for two hours.
During evening peak hours i.e. from 7 pm to 12 midnight the loadshedding will be carried out to the tune of 120 MW in the residential areas and to the tune of 180 MW in the industrial areas.
Resident feeders will be switched off for one hour during the evening peak hours. However, the spokesman said that the duration of loadshedding may prolong due to unforeseen circumstances.-PPI
