on Sept 30
KARACHI: The Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Commodity Exchange (ICCICE) in collaboration with the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce is organizing the second private sector meeting in Cairo, on September 30 to October 2.
Aqueel A. Jassem, Secretary General, ICCICE, said in a statement here on Tuesday that the main purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity to the private sector enterprises and traders to get acquainted with one another and discuss fields of cooperation for trade diversion by seeking markets and for trade creation by increasing the present percentage of inter-Islamic trade.
He said that concurrently with the meeting there will be a sectoral exhibition on textile and readymade garments and other products. He expected that quite a large number of importers and traders will attend the exhibition. More than 100 Egyptian and about 30 other OIC countries producers and manufacturers will exhibit their products and execute trade deals with importers belonging to different Islamic countries, he added.
Jassem said that the meeting will be held under the patronage of President of Egypt Hosni Mubarik and is likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister of Egypt while the rector of Al-Azhar will be the chief guest.
So far 74 institutions from 15 Islamic countries have nominated 93 representatives to attend the meeting, he concluded.-PPI
