BEIJING: China's cotton production will increase by an annual average of 4.9 percent from 1995 to 2000, the China Township Enterprises Daily said.

It said production would be boosted by a favourable growing policy and an improved state purchasing system. At an annual average growth rate of 4.9 percent, there is ample supply to meet demand, it added without giving further details.-Reuter
