ICCI calls for economic boycott
of Serbia, allies
KARACHI: The Secretary-General, Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Aqeel A. Al-Jassem has urged ICCI member institutions for immediate and effective economic boycott of Serbia and its allies, and to extend all material and financial support to the people in Bosnia to aid an effective resistance against aggression.
In a statement here on Monday Jassem, expressing his concern over the continued Serb aggression against Bosnian Muslims, called upon the Muslim world to extend all material and financial support to the oppressed for effective resistance.
He opined that maximum efforts should be mobilized at all levels, putting an end to the Serb brutality.
He urged business community of the Muslim world to use their influence on their respective governments to actually implement decisions made recently at Organization of Islamic Countries' (IOC) meeting.
He said it was for the last for years that the People of Bosnia, trying to assert their natural rights for freedom and sovereignty, were subjected to all sorts of crimes and atrocities.
Jassem regretted that despite accords signed and appeals made by the OIC and the international community, Serbs continue to commit flagrant human rights violations by occupying Bosnian territories, desplacing thousands of innocent people besides torturing men, raping women and murdering children.-APP
