Prices mixed on Jodia Bazar

KARACHI: Across-the-board changes were observed on the Jodia Bazar, where prices were mixed. Sectors which fluctuated on both sides of the counters were tea, powdered milk, plastic mouldings, chemicals, jute goods, Kirana and dry fruits.

Tea was mixed Kenyan teas were lower: PF-1 A grade shed Rs 10, B grade lost Rs 6, plus C grade conceded Rs 7, C grade climbed down by Rs 11, BP-1 A grade shed Rs 2, B grade up Rs 10, plus C grade up Rs 5, C grade gained Rs 10, C grade conceded Rs 14, Dust plus C grade lost Rs 10, Bangladesh's Garden Pack (original) lost Rs 10, Khushbu retreated by Rs 6, STD/515 up Rs 7, China's green 9575 shed Rs 7 black China quoted at Rs 60, Indonesia PF-1 good A up Rs 11, Good B up Rs 2, BP-1 (CTC) quoted at Rs 100/101, PD (CTC) quoted at Rs 62 to 77.

POWDERED MILK have started showing up despite withdrawal of Sales Tax, said to be due to the rise in prices abroad: Haleeb rose by Rs 1.10, Noor Pur turned higher by Rs 200 Corolac up Rs 50, Millac (per tin) up Rs 25 and Millac 2 1/2 kilo up Rs 30.

PLASTIC Mouldings continued lower; HDPE film Tipelin 75 paisa lower, Mobil lost same amount, Korea gave in 75 paisa, HDPE injection Ladene, Thai, Dilene and escorere declined 50 paisa, HDPE blow Tipelin, Dilene and Russian shed 75 paisa, polypropylene film grade Tipelin and amoco lower by 75 paisa, Polypropylene tape grade Yuplene, Hungary and Saudia backed away by 50 paisa, Polypropylene high impact-Basf, Krasten, Lucky and Hanam lost sharply by Rs 2, polystyrene GP (per bag) Solarine climbed down by lost Rs 120, Basf lost Rs 500, Korea shed Rs 120, Saudia retreated by same amount, Pakistani gave in Rs 125, Lucky lost Rs 120, PVC Golden Bell gave in Re one, formaton gave in Rs 1.50, Korea unchanged, Hungary (angrovil) depreciated by Rs 2, Saudia and Russia lost Re one.

CHEMICALS and dyes were weaker: DOP lost Rs 15, Oxalic acid China shed 25 paisa, citric acid depreciated by Rs 5, sulphonic acid China shed Rs 1.20, Soduim sulphide China turned weaker by Rs 4.80, Sodium hydrosulphide up 55 paisa.

JUTE GOODS were sharply lower: 16x3 Mehran (twine) brown, CRT/indus and PJSL conceded Re one and 40x2 Mehran brown lower by Rs 2, and hessian 50x9 Mehran up Rs 50.

KIRANA and DRY FRUITS depicted mixed trend: white pepper up Rs 100, black pepper lost Rs 200, small cardamom Tanzania lost Rs 600, small cardamom from Guatemala shed Rs 440, Copra Ceylon up Rs 90, Copra medium up Rs 50, small Copra up Rs 75, coconut oil up Rs 80, dry ginger up Rs 50, Almond katha up Rs 20, Raisin up Rs 100 and Pistachio lost Rs 250.
