RECORDER REPORT

FAISALABAD: About 20 members of Sipah-e-Sahaba armed with Klashnikoves snatched newspaper bundles of Daily Sadaqt, Lahore, and set them on fire here early in the morning at local Kutchery Bazar.

When this incident took place there were more than 500 hawkers present in the Press Market but no body dared to interfare.

A private wagon loaded with the newspaper bundles reached the Press Market at 4.45 a.m more than 20 activists of Sipah-e-Sahaba appeared and forcibily snatched the bundles of Daily Sadaqat after beating the news agent and burnt all the newspaper's copies.

Meanwhile, the news agents and hawkers have expressing grave concern over the incident and said that this is an act against the values of freedom of press and strongly demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits involved in this ugly incident.

They also called upon the local administration for the proper security measures in the Faisalabad Press Market so that in future such incident might not happen.
