LAHORE: Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto visited the flood affected areas of Gujranwala and Sheikhupura districts on Saturday during her two-day visit to the Punjab capital.

She distributed relief cheques and goods among the flood-stricken people of the area and inquired after the health and welfare of the marooned population.

The Prime Minister had an aerial view of the flood-hit areas. She directed the official concerned to take effective measures to compensate the losses and raise contributions to Prime Minister's flood relief fund. She also appealed to the people, philanthropists. Members of parliament and federal and provincial ministers to donate towards the fund to minimise the suffering of the affected people.
