exports to UAE

DUBAI: Pakistan's Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) will be taking part in three trade shows in the Gulf in coming months in line with its efforts to promote exports.

This was stated by the new Pakistani commercial counsellor to Dubai Shoaib Mir Memon while talking to members of Dubai-based Pakistan business council.

Admitting that Pakistan's trade ties were not commensurate with its strong fraternal ties with the UAE, he stressed the need to step up efforts to gain a bigger share of the local market. He sought cooperation of the Pakistan Business Council to boost the two-way trade with the UAE.

Tanvir Khawaja, chairman of the council called for increased efforts to boost Pakistani exports to Dubai, including the staging of solo fairs and specialist trade shows.

As part of the council's efforts to create an awarness about the Dubai market potential, the council will lead a trade delegation to Pakistan in October this year, he added.

He felt that the council, comprising more than 100 prominent Pakistani businessmen, was not called up on to contribute its full potential for improving the two-way trade with the UAE.-PPI
