Add compensation amount

D G KHAN: President Farooq Ahmad Khan Saturday directed Federal Flood Commission and the Punjab Government to release necessary funds for the construction of flood protection structures in D G Khan division.

He issued these directives during two separate briefings by irrigation officials on these projects held at villages Malkani (D G Khan) and Kotla Ahmad Khan (Rajanpur).

At a briefing on spur along River Indus near Malkani, the president was told that a sum of Rs 30 million was available with FFC and if these funds were diverted to the proposed projects, around 15 thousand people and hundreds of acres of cotton producing land of the area could be protected against the floods.

President directed the FFC for the diversion of the funds to the proposed project.

During another briefing at Kotla Ahmad Khan near Rajanpur, the president was told that the Punjab Government had released only five lakhs for the execution of Rs 22 million project aimed at increasing the discharge accommodation capacity of syphon located over a canal near Kotla Ahmad Khan.

On this, president directed the provincial government to immediately release the required funds in toto in the form of a supplementary grant to facilitate the completion of the project in this year.-APP
