Benazir peruses
Bhutto's works
on Internet
SARGODHA: Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto went through the catalogue and read her father's book as well through a computer linked to "Internet" here on Wednesday, at the inauguration ceremony of the Sargodha Digital Exchange.
Talking to the high officials of PTC during a briefing by PTC chairman mian Javed, she said the "Internet" (connection to global computer network through computer) is the result of the MoU signed by her.
She said that the MoUs signed by her government have started yielding fruitful results to bring about an economic and technological revolution in the country.
She said "E-Mail" was, earlier, only used by Altaf Hussain but now everyone can utilize this facility.
She was accompanied by the Punjab Governor and Hamid Nasir Chatha, President PML (J).
The Chairman apprised her that after signing agreements with other countries, it will be possible to read any book in any library of the world through "Internet". He also exhibited the computer contact with Geneva and then Harvard University Library.
She was told that work on another MoU is in progress after which 90 percent villages of the country will be connected with the telephone system.
Earlier, she unveiled the plaque of the exchange and inaugurated the exchange by cutting a ribbon. She also planted a sapling in the courtyard of the exchange.-APP
