Bangladesh taka
closes higher
DHAKA: The Bangladesh taka closed higher at 40.1985/40.1990 to the dollar compared with the previous 40.1990/40.1995 in interbank trading, dealers said.
Dealers said demand for the dollar was easier because of higher lending rates in the call money market.
Dealers said the interbank call money rates closed higher at 3.75 percent to 4.75 percent against 3.75-4.0 percent previously. The market experienced tight liquidity after the central bank sold 3.1 billion taka worth of 91-day T-bills on Monday.-Reuter
