Hizbollah says two

guerrillas killed in S. Lebanon

NABATIYEH: Pro-Iranian Hizbollah (Party of God) said on Tuesday two of its guerrillas were killed in fighting with Israeli troops and allies in south Lebanon .

Hizbollah said in a statement issued in Nabatiyeh that Najib Choueib died in a clash with Israeli troops in the Iqlim al-Toufah mountain ridges in south Lebanon.

In a later statement later, it said another guerrilla, Fouad Aoun, was killed in the same area.

Neither statement said when the guerrillas were killed.

Iqlim al-Toufah has lately been the target of Israeli air raids against suspected Hizbollah hideouts.

Three pro-Israeli militiamen and 13 Hizbollah guerrillas have been killed in fighting in the south since the beginning of August.-Reuter
