FPCTCI meets
tomorrow to
take future steps
after strike
RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Traders and Cottage Industries (FPCTCI) after observing what it called a successful strike on income tax issue, has decided to meet on August 30 in Lahore to decide its future course of action.
Azizur Rehman Rajput, President of the FPCTCI while comparing the contribution made by the business and the agriculture sectors to the national exchequer last year, said that as against Rs 58 billion of the business community the agriculture sector's share was merely Rs 25 lakh throughout the country.
He said that the demand of the business community is just to save them from the corrupt bureaucrats and not any relaxation or exemption as the businessmen believe in playing due role in building the national economy, while the government is giving relief to the privileged class of agriculturists on the excuse of flood havoc which is unfair in the sense that all that relief is swallowed by big feudals who are also MNAs, MPAs and Ministers.
