Add Rupee

LAHORE: Against the expectations of the brokers, the Lahore currency market stayed firm and no major fluctuations were observed on the foreign exchange counter.

The rupee which opened at its previous close maintained its parity in terms of the US dollar.

The overall volume and turnout was much higher than usual because of the three day closure of the market.

In the kerb, the rupee trend was a bit lower. However, the price was maintained.

Tomorrow it could be different because the new rates from the international markets would arrive in Lahore, said a local currency dealer commenting on the situation.
