Shah for

separating

crime, politics

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Abdullah Shah has called for looking upon the present law and order situation in its right perspective.

Those who are linking Karachi situation with that of Kashmir were, in fact, not serving the national interests, the Chief Minister said while talking to a 32-member delegation of 9th Air War Course led by Air Commodore Zulfikar Ahmed Shah which called on him at Chief Minister House on Sunday.

Referring to prevailing law and order situation in Sindh, The Chief Minister said the present government firmly believes in the strengthening of political institutions and resolving political issues through dialogue.

But, he reiterated, crime and politics have to be separated from each other in the greater national interest. "We would not bow down before propaganda tactics from any quarter in this regard", he declared.

Referring to Saturday's massacre at Moosa Colony in Karachi's Central District in which eight poor persons were killed in cold blood, the Chief Minister observed that no sane person would ever ascribe to such acts of cowardice.

The government will deal with such acts of barbarism with an iron hand, whether committed by terrorists in Moosa Colony, Karachi or by dacoits in village Shah Mamani, Khairpur where 13 persons were massacred this month.

He pointed out that acts of extortions and other anti-social activities were receding. The present government would ensure their total elimination from the society.-APP
