RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: The first phase of RBOD project would benefit 8,42,500 acres of land and save it from waterlogging and salinity. The project would also improve the water quality of Manchar and Hawal lakes. The two lakes are traditional sanctuaries for migratory birds during winters but the birds have been abandoning then for scarcity of quality water.

This was disclosed here on Sunday during a meeting between Parliamentary Secretary, Altaf Ali Bhayo MNA and Member (Water) Wapda Khalid Mohtadullah at Wapda House.

During the meeting the overall water resource issues for Lower Indus came under discussion.
