The operators and jobbers who recently acquired large stocks on the hope that prices would rise further to bring good profits, took to unloading when their hopes were not fulfilled. At the final bell declines were more than the advances. The underlying sentiment remained steady. In the absence of new guiding factors, the market did not show any extra ordinary improvement in tone.
