Israel criticised
for mly ties
with China
JERUSALEM: US human rights activist Harry Wu, expelled from China last week after being imprisoned for two months, criticised Israel on Sunday for its military ties with Beijing.
"I know that Israeli military experts right now in China are working very hard with Chinese military," Wu told Israel Radio by phone from the United States.
"This is a very bad decision...This is very terrible," he said.
Israel and China established diplomatic relations in 1992 but are believed to have maintained military ties long before. Israel has admitted selling arms to China but said the transactions were not extensive.
China deported Wu, a U.S. citizen who had been collecting information on human rights abuses in China's prisons, to the United States on Thursday hours after convincting him of espionage and sentencing him to 15 years in prison.-Reuter
