Growers warned of

pest attack on

paddy crop

LAHORE: The plant protection experts have warned the paddy growers of the attack of Rice Leaf Roller on the crop as the humid weather was very congenial for the multiplication of the pests.

According to the Punjab Agriculture Department officials here, the incessant monsoon rains all over the province had turned the weather very humid, facilitating the rapid growth of leaf roller pest in the paddy fields.

The farmers have been asked to be vigilent and watch their rise fields daily.

The use of granular insecticides in the standing water can be helpful in checking the growth of the pest.

Moreover, in case of dried fields, liquid insecticides could by sprayed in appropirate dose after diluting in 100 litres of water.-APP
