import Chinese

tractors

for ATS

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will import Chinese tractors SJ-500 and Shanghi for their inclusion in the on-going Awami Tractors Scheme launched this year by the Government.

This was disclosed by the Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock Nawab Mohammad Yousuf Talpur during a meeting with the Ambassador of People's Republic of China, Zhang Chengli who called on him the other day.

The Minister said that Pakistan will sign an agreement with China for import of Chinese tractor next month. He said, the Government requires 100,000 tractors more for its ATS as it had already delivered 20,000 to the farmers. He disclosed to the Ambassador that he, on the invitation of his counterpart, would be visiting China in coming September. During the visit, he will review the manufacturing and performance of tractors in China.

The Minister thanked the Government of China and its people for sending 10 tractors as gift for ATS.-APP
