KMC to spend
Rs 239m on various
uplift projects
KARACHI: The Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) will spend Rs. 239 million on different development schemes and projects throughout the city under Karachi Package during the current financial year.
The work on Quaid-e-Awam Flyover, (Clifton), a part of Karachi package has already started and the KMC will spend Rs. 100 million on it. The KMC will also undertake Storm Water Drain Scheme with KMC's share of Rs. 60 million.
The work on Liaquatabad flyover is expected to commence by September with KMC spending Rs. 30 million on the project. Similarly, work on widening of Lasbella bridge is in progress with an expenditure of Rs. 15 million.
The construction of link road between Shaheed-e-Millat Road and Tin Hatti is also expected to commence in September under the Karachi Package.
The other projects by the KMC under the Prime Minister's Karachi Package include a modern slaughter house, truck stand at Hawksbay, development of Nahre Khayyam at Boating Basin (Clifton), Dolphin Park, Lyari Express Way and reconstruction of Old Kala Pul (Sammo Shaheed Bridge).-APP
