Hillary to attend
women moot
WASHINGTON: Hillary Rodham Clinton will attend the UN-sponsored women's conference in China next month now that China has removed what had been the major obstacle to her trip, US officials said on Friday.
The first lady is to spend three days in China and speak at the conference in Beijing. She is the honorary chair of the US delegation.
Her acceptance of the invitation was being announced later Friday during president Clinton's visit to Yellowstone National Park. The first family is vacationing in Wyoming.
Administration officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, also said Mrs. Clinton was expected to talk about the trip on Saturday during a ceremony in Wyoming marking the 75th anniversary of women's sufferage.
Tentative plans for her to visit Mongolia as well during her trip to Asia have been scrapped because of lack of planning time, officials said.-AP
