Disputed land case

3 officers asked

to file comments

on petition

KARACHI: A Division Bench of the Sindh High Court has asked the SDM Jamshed Quarters, SHO Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and Assistant Director, KMC Encroachment Cell to file their comments on a constitutional petition filed by the heirs of one Gul Mohammad on a land dispute.

The bench comprising the Acting Chief Justice Mr Justice Abdul Hafeez Memon and Mr Justice Nazim Hussain Siddiqui observed that on March 14 last the court had directed these respondents to file comments within three weeks but the orders were not complied with.

The bench directed the said respondents to submit their explanations for not submitting their comments in compliance with the court's order.

The learned judges also bound them down to be personally present in the court on the next date of hearing on September 5 for which the court also issued notice to the Advocate General.

It may be pointed out that Khamis Khan and Abdul Ghani, both sons of late Gul Mohammad Gabol, while disputing the ownership of a piece of land measuring about 10,000 square yards in Haji Leemo Khan Gabol Goth in Block 4, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, have maintained that KDA has wrongfully allocated the land to Pakistan Memon Educational and Welfare Society which, they said, actually belonged to their late father.-APP
