LHC withdraws

pre-arrest bail

of PML(N) MNAs

LAHORE: A single bench of the Lahore High Court has directed to withdraw its previous orders in which relief of pre-arrest bails had been given to two MNAs from the PML(N) fold Chaudhry Zulfiqar, and Kabir Ali Khan.

The learned court had restrained the provincial Anti-Corruption Department to arrest the petitioners, when they had moved the LHC for the grant of pre-arrest bail.

The bench on Tuesday directed Punjab Anti-Corruption to proceed in accordance with the law and directed the petitioner to approach the court of relative jurisdiction for bail.

A case of misappropriation had been registered against the two legislators from the opposition fold for misusing the finances of District Council being the import tax recovery contractor of the Lahore Zila Council.

Provincial Minister for Local Bodies Syed Nazim Shah had directed to hold a special enquiry in this matter and after finding both the MNAs guilty of this corruption had directed to register a case against them with the Punjab Anti-Corruption Department.
