DHAKA: Bangladesh taka closed at 40.1985/40.1995 to a dollar compared with previous 40.1990/40.1995 in interbank trading, dealers said.

Dealers said the market was quite active on higher requirment of dollar for imports.

They said the interbank call money rate closed higher at 3.75 percent to 4.0 percent against 3.0-3.75 percent previously.

"The liquidity was tight due to increased lending and government borrowing," said one dealer with a foreign bank.-Reuter
