Akbari Mandi firm: sugar
up Rs 10
RECORDER REPORT
LAHORE: Akbari Mandi depicted a firm outlook a while sugar remained the talk of the town on Tuesday.
After the information that Azam Sugar Mills had got stay order by the LHC against the removal of their sugar bags from the factory premises, the sugar price took another rise of Rs. 10 per bag. Sugar had been selling from Rs. 1590 to Rs. 1595 per bag.
Since the High Court has stayed the removal of sugar, sugar would stay inside the mills premises and there would be less supply in the market which will lead to rise in prices, said a local sugar dealer.
President, Sugar Dealers Association Mohammad Asghar Butt said that though there was no sugar crisis, the present mismanagement could lead to a crisis.
In other sectors like pulses, sugar, kiryana and rice the prices stayed firm.
Following were commodity rates on Tuesday:
Sugar: 1590 to 1995.
