KARACHI: Passing out parade of the 9th batch of the Pakistan Marines was held in PNS Qasim Manora on Tuesday morning.

Speaking on the occasion Commodore Muhammad Yunus Commodore Training Ashore said that sailors should make maximum use of the limited resources available to them and perform their duties with honesty, dedication and with a spirit of jehad. He appreciated the standard of drill and turn out of the parade.

Later chief guest gave prizes to the sailors who achieved distinctions in various fields during the training. The best overall and Comkar Gold Medal was awarded to Tariq Hussain while prizes for best in unarmed combat, marksmanship, field and tactics and watermanship were given to M. Mushtaq, Liaquat Ali, M. Nadeem and J. Hussain respectively.

The Commanding Officer, Commander Shaheen Pervez in his welcome address highligted the salient features of the training imparted to the sailors at the Pakistan Marines Training Centre.

Earlier on arrival at the parade ground the Commodore Training Ashore was received by the Commanding Officer of PNS Qasim. He then reviewed the parade. After the parade the marines gave a thrilling demonstration of bayonet fighting, unarm combat and anti ambush drill. The passing out ceremony was witnessed by a large number of naval officers, sailors and their relatives.-APP
