HMC negotiating
machinery sales
with Iran, CARs
KARACHI: Negotiations to supply cement and sugar plants by the Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC), Taxila, to Iran and several Central Asian Republics were in an advanced stage.
HMC sources said they were optimistic of procuring these orders which would be a great boost for the company.
Aware of the falling local demand for cement and sugar plants, the HMC management has taken measures to diversify its activities with special emphasis on exploring export markets in the Middle East, Iran, Central Asian Republics and the African countries.
HMC was making concerted efforts to get local orders for thermal and hydel power plants, chemical, petro-chemical and fertilizer plants and polyester projects.
The company has already supplied power units for the Muzaffargarh, Bin Qasim, Hubco and Karachi Electric Supply Corporation's power units, besides revamping of the National Oil Refinery.-PPI
