Copper remains lower

NEW YORK: COMEX copper remained lower in midday trading, with the market monitoring the active September contract to see if it dips below 140 cents a lb again where sell stops could be triggered, traders said.

"The market is just drifting sideways at the moment," a trader said.

At 1223 EDT, active September was at 140.10 cents, down 1.95 cents, traded 141.80 to 139.90 cents.-Reuter
