Bombay sugar
in week trade
BOMBAY: Sugar prices slipped on the local market as consumer demand turned sluggish amid subdued sentiment, dealers said.
Ready S-30 shed 10-15 rupees a quintal (100 kgs) to 1,220/1,255 and M-30 fell by a similar amount to 1,230/1,330 rupees a quintal. Sugar mill delivery was steady at 1,165/1,175 rupees per quintal in thin trade.
Trading volumes were poor as big players were awaiting next month's free sale quota which is due in the next 10 days. "Traders are expecting a quota of about 700,000 tonnes for next month," a dealer said.-Reuter
