changed

SINGAPORE: Asian dollar deposits were little changed in lacklustre trade with most traders keeping to the sidelines, dealers said.

"The market was quiet and featureless in the morning on lack of fresh factors. There was no fresh news in the afternoon and most people were sitting on the sidelines, reluctant to open new positions," a local dealer said.

"Some people are waiting for this Tuesday's (US) Federal Open Market Committee meeting and Thursday's durable good data, for more clues to the state of the (US) economy and inflation," he said.

In short dates, Monday/Tuesday, Tuesday/Wednesday and week-fixed were unchanged from last Friday's common 5-7/8 5-3/4 percent.

Among term rates, one-and-three-month were unchanged from last Friday's common 6 5-7/8 percent. Nine-month rose 1/16 percentage point to 6-1/16 5-15/16 percent, while twelve-month was unchanged at 6-1/8 6 percent.-Reuter
