The rupee depicted a mixed outlook on the foreign exchange counter on Monday.

The dollar and Deutsche mark showed a downward trend while pound sterling was a bit stronger in a rather dull market, due to the day-long downpour in the city.

The dollar opened at Rs 32.59 in terms of the rupee and receded four paisa. Its closing was recorded at Rs 32.55. Similarly the Deutsche mark which was Rs. 22.25 on Sunday lowered down to Rs. 22.20 on Monday.

The pound sterling was up by seven paisa from its overnight closing of Rs. 50.57.
