FAISALABAD: A kiln owner and social figure of Faisalabad Haji Ehsan Ellahi was shot dead by four armed dacoits near Sadhar. The dacoits also snatched away his car.

According to details, Haji Ehsan was going towards his kiln near Sadhar on Faisalabad-Jhang Road when he was intercepted by four dacoits who were following him in a car. His car was stopped by them. One of the dacoits shot at his jaw when he resisted their bid to take away his car.

He was shifted to the District Headquarters Hosopital for medical aid where he succumbed to his injuries.

In another incident, six dacoits looted a passenger bus No. FDR 5437 near Alisar Railway Station near Toba Tek Singh.

According to details, the bus was going to Multan from Faisalabad. Four young men boarded the bus from Toba Tek Singh, while the other two boarded the bus at a stop on the way. When the bus reached near the Alisar Railway Station the dacoits whipped out their weapons and asked all the passengers, including women, to hand over their cash, wrist watches and gold ornaments. The robbers fled away after looting cash and valuables worth above Rs three lakh.

Police have registered a case on the report of the bus driver, but no clue has been reported so far.
