Indians kill five

in held-Valley

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, five young men were killed in custody at various places while the Indian troops, in their indiscriminate firing at Lolab in Kupwara area, critically injured 50 innocent people, reported Kashmir Media Service.

In a village in Bandipura area, the troops shot dead four young men immediately after their arrest. Three of the four martyred were identified as Mohammad Maqbool Ganai, Ghulam Hasan and Bashir Ahmed Ganai. The fifth young man was martyred at Palwama and his dead body was thrown in Shopian. Protest strikes and anti-India demonstrations were held in Shopian against the Indian repression.

A young man, Bashir Ahmad Ganai, was shot at and seriously injured during a military raid at a village in Kupwara area. Six youth were arrested from a passenger bus in Kupwara and sent to torture cells.

Reacting to Indian violence on people during a siege in Islamabad area, the Mujahideen attacked the troops killing and injuring serveral of them. A military vehicle was attacked with hand grenade, inflicting considerable losses on troops. Two military vehicles were blasted in landmine explosions, one each at Pampur and Lolab, killing and injuring all on board. A military camp was attacked in Tral area, inflicting losses on troops in men and material. A soldier was killed when a military bunker was attacked at Saura bus stop in Srinagar.

A large number of Western journalists, diplomats and experts gathered here in connection with the Western hostages hoax, staged by India to defuse Western concern for the Kashmiris' cause.

Meanwhile Hurriyet leaders and Mujahideen organizations have once again appealed to the so-called Al-Faran outfit to release the foreign hostages.

Hizbul Mujahideen's Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Yaseen Malik, in their separate statements, have demanded immediate release of the foreign tourists. Addressing a rally at Shopian, Syed Ali Gilani and Qazi Ahadullah declared that the Indian conspiracies to weaken the liberation movement would be frustrated at all costs.-PPI
