Import duty on

newsprint to be

reviewed: Kharal

ISLAMABAD: The Government will review the incidence of import duty on newsprint. This was stated by the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Khalid Ahmad Khan Kharal, while meeting with the representatives of Pakistan Newspapers and Periodicals Organization (PNPO) and Newspapers Editors Council of Pakistan (NECP) at Islamabad on Sunday.

During the meeting, the delegation apprised the Minister of the problems of newspaper industry due to price-hike of newsprint in the international market and asked the Government to provide immediate relief by withdrawing duty on the newsprint.

The delegation expressed satisfaction with the Government decision for reviewing the import duty on newsprint.-APP
