PTC men asked
to exercise
NTC joining
option by 22nd
HAFEEZ SHAIKH
HYDERABAD: A most urgent letter issued by the Pakistan Telecommunication Corporation (PTC) Islamabad to all the general managers, chief engineers, and directors of the department about the establishment of a National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) has created a lot of confusion among the PTC employees as the letter was very ambiguous.
The employees have been asked to submit their option if they are interested to join the NTC by August 22.
The letter envisages the preparation of two separate lists - one for the officials from BPS-1 to BPS-15 and the other for officers from BPS-16 and above.
However, no clarification has been given in the letter about the service structure, pay, pension and other fringe benefits.
This anomaly has created unrest among the permanent employees of the PTC.
The Secretary-General Workmen's Union Kotri (CBA) Mohammad Afzal Khan in an urgent communication addressed to the Chairman PTC has requested for clarification and details of the option sought from the PTC employees.
He has also pleaded that the last date for seeking options from employees should be extended by one week and in the meantime, the employees should be informed of the service structure of NTC including gratuity, pension and fringe benefits.
