NABATIYEH (Lebanon): Israeli helicopters strafed and rocketed suspected guerrilla targets north of the Jewish state's south Lebanon occupation zone on Saturday, security sources said.

They said four helicopters fired rockets and machineguns at a group of guerrillas in the Yohmor area near the market town of Nabatiyeh who were trying to infiltrate into the 15-km (nine-mile) -deep Israeli-held zone.

There was no immediate report of casualties.

Guerrillas of the pro-Iranian Moslem group Hizbollah (Party of God) are active in the Yohmor region.-Reuter
